Shopping Post

I did some major, major shopping yesterday at Glorietta/Greenbelt and at Powerplant last Friday. There are times in a month when I just want to shop, shop and shop some more! Here’s what I got:

shopaholic and baby, floral notebook and xywhite toothpaste, by bitsandtreats

From Powerplant – a notebook because I need to make plans, Shopaholic & Baby because I’m not yet through with the Shopaholic series. I’m currently reading Shopaholic Ties the Knot. This was on 20% discount because of the British-Filipino Friendship Month. I also bought a few things at PCX including this Xywhite toothpaste which I will make a review of in the future.

boxed tissues, TFS nail polish, TFS nose hair scissors, ellana brush cleaner, by bitsandtreats

Ellana brush cleaner from SM, The Face Shop nose hair scissors for the boy and nail polish for me and some boxed tissues from Landmark.

I got this transparent bag with pouch free at Watsons because I bought these:

watsons haul 2, by bitsandtreats

I bought facial tissues, wet tissues, Charmee, a headband from Nouveau, Monea Curl Defining Milk Lotion, some vitamins, Kleenex oil blotter, Sunsilk green shampoo and some hand wash (not in the photo). I wasn’t planning on overspending but as I approached Watsons Greenbelt 1, the word SALE was in red posters! I felt giddy and stocked up on items I frequently use. The bag is free when you purchase at least Php800 with at least one of the participating promo items. In this case, it was the Kleenex oil blotting film. MB was having his hair cut done next door so he was shocked to see this haul. Haha!

Finally, our first Havaianas!

I was planning on buying Ipanemas but Havaianas was on sale at 30% and I couldn’t resist! MB was having my SIM fixed at Globe Glorietta so I wandered off on my own in search of treasures and this is what I found. You should have seen his face when I handed his bag complete with a card. He said, “you bought me Havaianas?” (in a whisper) like it was the most expensive thing in the world. Haha! It was priceless, I tell you.  MB is a very simple guy who grew up in the province. He rarely buys things for himself so he gets very happy (sometimes emotional, sssssh!) when I surprise him with stuff.

It’s Sunday today and we’re supposed to do the groceries. I’m running late as I slept at 2 AM. (Thanks Kitten for keeping me company!). I forgot to buy a few things yesterday (I got distracted, okay?) and I’ll probably go shopping again today. It’s really great to be a girl!

  1. WOW, MAJOR MAJOR haul E! I haul tissues too, the book is good btw, I finished it na, as usual very quirky like the other series. I won't spoil the story na, hehe.

How much is the nose scissors? need to buy for M too, hehe. I could actually imagine that scenario, haha. I super laughed when I read it.

Oh joy! I definitely know the feeling of excitement seeing the word SALE at watson's, M just keeps quiet when I drag him. I'd have to agree being a girl rocks. Most welcome, I'm a vampire, awake at night.

  2. I started the Shopaholic series when it first came out pero I can't seem to finish them or buy them all in one go. I get distracted by other books. Haha! Pero I think every time I buy Shopaholic books, they're always on sale! Score!

Php75 lang ang scissors! Yeah, sometimes MB is like that too. But he gets excited when I buy his kikay stuff!

Kamusta mo ko kay Edward at kay Bill Compton!

  3. I see, lucky naman, the only Shopaholic I owned is the, Ties the knot, the others I just borrowed from my sister. But I'm planning to buy the whole series and when M and I have bought a house na or condo I plan to have a library of it.

Oh, cheap ha? thanks for the heads up, will buy it for him, ka irita sometimes when I see some hair peeking, hahaha. M rin eh, I guess they like the fact that we buy them their kikay stuff.

HAHAHA! Sureness! Will see if their at work later, lol.

  4. There are two things that I will have in my life, no matter what - a walk-in closet and a library. Period.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
