SuperSale Bazaar Super Haul

I wasn’t planning on going to this bazaar because I didn’t have anyone to take with me. MB has a company dinner, one of my gal pals is away with her boyfriend and I had lab work scheduled for today. But when I learned that Sol of Digital Traincase will be there with a bunch of Urban Decay Naked Palettes, I just had to go. So, being the shopaholic that I am, I pushed all my labwork to a later schedule and instead went to therapy. Retail, that is.

I was there at 10:30 am. I wanted the palette so bad that I felt like hyperventilating while getting dressed, much like Becky Bloomwood when she saw the Denny & George scarf. Sometimes when I really want something, my adrenaline rushes and I go crazy.

When I got there, the first booth that I looked for was Sol’s. Too bad, she wasn’t set up yet. So I went around and got these:

Assorted dresses from Pirouette

The floral dress needs to be altered. The straps are too long for me. Geez, I’m too small…. This is a tiny dress already. The black one is a vest.

Looked around some more and got these:

I wanted the yellow bag but it was already dirty and stained and the owner said that she didn’t have any more stocks so I got the blue one which is also fab because I have a matching skirt.

Finally, I couldn’t contain it any longer so I went to Sol’s. They weren’t finished yet but I asked if I can already look around. Sol said sure but it was still quite messy. I said no problem and shyly asked for the Naked palette. And then she asked, “gusto mo na?” Hahaha! I’m too obvious! But before that, I got these:

The elf polishes are free! Thank you Sol!

Forgot to include this in the group photo as I already applied this to my fingernails:

And because I’m a sucker for sets and palettes:

The free cuff bracelet is really just an elastic lace that was sewn. I’ve outgrown light and pink nail polish. I now gravitate toward dark/bright/glittery and bold colors.

Of course, my trip wouldn’t be complete without makeup:

Got this ELF Powder Brush which is soooo soft. Review coming.

The NYX Mood Lip Gloss is similar to Smashbox’s O-Glow.

And of course, the piece de resistance:

Can I just say that I’m the very first girl to buy a Naked Palette from the Digital Traincase! I’m one proud shopaholic! Wheeeee!

(Reviews coming for all the makeup)

Because shopping for pasalubong is caring (and I love my mom and sis):

These are for my mom and sis. They both like red and pink polish. Mom also likes golds/bronze and this is the perfect combination.

This bag is for my mom. The shade is actually more of a purple/pinkish shade. Here it looks too ube. Oh, I forgot to mention that the bags can fit a lot of stuff. They’re not too flat and that makes me a happy girl as I tend to bring 1/4 of my room with me whenever I go out.

I also got mom this:

nyx georgia peach hd grinding blush, by bitsandtreats

Here’s how it looks:

You twist the cap and it grinds up the blush.

Here’s a swatch:

It’s very pretty. I applied this on her and it looks really natural.

After the bazaar, I went home and dumped my stuff and rushed to get my lab work done. Then I did a little more shopping and ate lunch at Toast Box. I’m really enjoying this eating/shopping alone thing. After that, I went home again and dumped my stuff and my sister and I went to see the dentist. Turns out, I need some surgery done and I need to wear braces because my stupid impacted tooth is pushing my front tooth. Waaaah!!! But that’s a story for another day. Let’s go back to my happy place.

Yeah, the shopping bug bit me the other day but I wasn’t able to buy anything. I was sick for two days (polymyositis strikes back), I just slept and slept but today I was back with a vengeance!  This was a very fun day indeed.

Again, special thanks goes out to Sol for making my day. Check out her online store at http://digitaltraincase.multiply.com/. She also has a blog of the same name.

The SuperSale Bazaar is until Sunday at Rockwell.  What made your Friday?

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
