πŸ“’ Paper, Glue, and a Little Bit of Magic: Behind the Scenes of My Mini Weekly Planners

Tonight, I’m not showing you the polished, tied-with-a-ribbon final product.

I’m showing you the floor.

Because that’s where the real magic happens.

Not on a desk or a clean white tabl,  but on the floor, where my creativity (and madness 😏) have the freedom to sprawl, spill, and be loud. The tools are everywhere. The washi tapes have staged a coup. My sticker stash is plotting world domination. And in the middle of it all? Me. Cross-legged, barefoot, in the zone — building something with my hands.

These mini weekly planners started as a simple idea.

A way to make something functional… but soft.

Useful, but magical.

Something original in a world where even beauty is often AI-generated.
And don’t get me wrong. I love AI art. I appreciate its elegance and speed. But on Sunday afternoon, I craved something with texture. Something that holds scent. Something that curls at the corners, smudges slightly, and whispers, “A real woman touched this.”

I've been thinking about this project for weeks now. At first I wanted just a very simple cover, maybe something I'll make on Canva. But after making my Sono Tua Journal, simple won't cut it anymore.

So I pulled out my vintage ephemera.

Florals, faded postcards, scraps of shimmer and text, stickers with the kind of charm you can’t replicate. I sorted through pearls, punched holes, rolled tape, tore papers with my fingertips instead of scissors. I wanted the imperfection. I wanted me in every inch.

I had forgotten about this stash! It was like seeing my ephemera for the first time!

And I fell in love again.

This isn’t just about stationery.

It’s about the joy of making something slowly.

I have trypophobia and I saw these and took a photo and sent it to my friend. I asked why the heck do I have these! And even bigger ones below! πŸ˜†

It’s about touching paper instead of screens.

It’s about creating for the pleasure of the process, not the pressure of the product.

Last Sunday, I let myself play.

Surprisingly, these don't trigger me at all!

Tomorrow… I’ll show you what came out of it. The finished mini planners. The Galentine's Day boxes. The dainty little pieces of love and paper that survived the glitter storm and came out radiant.

But for now — I want you to see the behind-the-scenes. The creative mess. The raw magic. Because honestly? That part is just as beautiful.

I will leave you with the layout for the first planner, before I started gluing things.

Come by again tomorrow if you want to see the rest.
