Quiet Luxury: A Simple Ritual for Everyday Elegance

Glow Girls fra Norge, dere er fantastiske! Tusen takk for at dere leser bloggen min! You've been consistently my top readers for the past week!

When we think of pampering, we often skip our hardworking hands—but they deserve love too! Our hands go through so much every day, from typing and washing to carrying groceries and crafting magic. ✨

Today, I'm highlighting the Daily Moment Vegan Hand Cream from The Face Shop. 🫶 It’s lightweight yet moisturizing, smells sooo good (Midnight Street is such a mood!), and it’s vegan too!

I picked this up a few months ago from The Face Shop Greenbelt, and I haven’t seen it restocked since—so I’m glad I trusted my instincts and bought it when I did. The variant I got is Midnight Street (05), and honestly, it’s one of those hand creams that surprises you—not just with how it feels on the skin but with how much the scent lifts your mood.

This cream is part of The Face Shop’s Daily Moment vegan hand cream line. It’s compact and sleek, and while the text on the back is tiny (you'll need a magnifying glass to read the ingredients!), it proudly displays its vegan certification. The formula includes shea butter, and even though I normally react to shea in some products, I haven’t had issues with this one—perhaps because it’s well-balanced.

As for texture, it's a lightweight cream—not greasy or sticky. It gives just enough moisture for regular hand care but you’ll want to reapply it throughout the day if you’re on the dry side like I am. What makes this cream a standout, though, is the scent. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but Midnight Street has this mellow yet cozy fragrance that makes you stop for a moment. On days when I feel a bit dizzy or overwhelmed, I rub a little onto my palms and just inhale. Instant mood boost.

I’d definitely say this is one of those “nice to have” products in your bag. If you’re a hand cream lover or someone who enjoys scent-based mood enhancers, this is worth trying. I also remember the blue variant smelled amazing too, so if you see these in stock, don’t hesitate. Oh, if they have testers, test the product first. I found that the product smells different when I applied it on my hands vs in the tube.

Use it as a mini pick-me-up in the middle of your day—just rub a little on your palms, breathe in the scent, and take a short pause for yourself. Bonus: it helps with those dizzy spells and mental resets. 🌸

Mumuso Nail Polish and NOTD

While we're in the subject of hands, I'd also like to share with you these Mumuso nail polish.

I haven't worn nail polish in 13 years! I stopped when I got pregnant with my son. While looking around at Mumuso, I decided to buy some when I saw that top coat with the flower inside! It looked so lovely plus it says it has more than 5 plant extracts to protect nails. Since I have a top coat, I needed a base coat, right? I love jewel tones and shimmery polish so I got this. The shade is Mermaid.

Special note on the top coat with flower: That slim cap is genius! It makes applying polish on my right hand easy! I'm a righty so it's tricky to apply nail polish using my left hand, especially if it also has nail polish that's drying. Most nail polish have round caps but this slim cap makes application easy and efficient!

The nail polish lasted 3 days. It started chipping on the 3rd day but that's mainly because I do a lot of chores around the house. I reckon it will last longer if you don't keep washing dishes or do a ton of chores daily.

When the nail polish dried, I applied a coat of this rose cuticle oil, also from Mumuso. It worked so well! It really moisturized my super dry cuticles! Just 3 days in and I started to notice the difference. I react to rose water, or maybe the strong scent, but this has a very mild rose scent that I was able to tolerate.

I removed the nail polish with this when it started chipping:

These Aloe Vera Nourishing Nail Polish Remover Pads really do nourish! I had to use several pads to completely remove the nail polish (happens when you have glittery or shimmery nail polish), but it works! It smells nice too, like strawberries.

I have to tell you, the first time I swiped on that nail polish, I felt like exhaling. Like my soul exhaled. I was tired from a day out shopping, but I was so excited to use them that I applied the polish right away when we got home. That first night that I had it on, I couldn't help but stare at my hands. Like, are these really my hands? They're usually dry and cracked and raw, but tonight, they look spoiled and luxurious! That $1.75 bottle of nail polish changed my whole perspective and lifted my spirits. And it keeps doing that every time I have it on! So I'd say that was a pretty good buy, don't you agree? I've forgotten what it feels like to pamper myself that even a simple nail polish gave me so much joy.

Glow Moms, find your happiness. And when you see it, go there often. It can be as simple as a bottle of nail polish and a tube of lotion. But if it makes you happy, go for it. And stay with it.

Don't forget—soft and loved hands are happy hands! 💖

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
