Weekday Whimsy Diaries: More Hello Kitty (and Sanrio) x Miniso, One Piece, and Getting Stuck in the Mall

Have you read my Hello Kitty x Miniso post? That's actually part 1 of this Weekday Whimsy Diary entry.

We went to Miniso to check out the new Hello Kitty collection.

Today's eye look is courtesy of BYS Coral Crush palette. I skipped the mascara because my eyes are too sensitive and keep tearing up.

Lips: MAC Ruby New, Anastasia Caramel, and BYS Plump It Peach Perfection

There was a bazaar in the mall.

Wanted to buy some green mangoes, but they were too expensive.

Miniso

We continue our day at Miniso with more Hello Kitty goodness!

I thought of buying this pouch as it's big! It's great for traveling.

I ended up buying this instead.

I was also eyeing this, but my girl friend said that I should get the other one.

Excuse my bandaged hand. I got an oil splatter while cooking breakfast

I forgot to say in my last post that I got that cute hand towel, too!

I was a big Care Bears fan. I still have my plushies!

These are so cute if you have preschoolers and toddlers! Just imagine putting that on their high chair table! Cuuuuuttteeee!!

Of course these cups need a cozy holder, right?

These night lights are so adorable!

I really wanted these scrunchies, but I rarely tie my hair. My bestie had to intervene! (Need to have an excuse to buy these next time. Haha! Peace, bestie! ✌️)

In my first Miniso post, I showed you their new line of makeup. I made sure to take a closer look this time around as the cream blush I got was a dream!

This product is very interesting! Everything you need for your face is in one compact case!

I got one of these Ballerina Lipsticks.

I also got some of the Minimalist Lipsticks

Almost everyone has handheld fans nowadays, and they've gotten smaller! I'm still stuck with my big-ish fans. I don't want to replace them as they still work fine.

I really like these big zippers, but the designs are too juvenile for me.

Pochacco was one of my favorite Sanrio characters in high school

I was a sucker for cute erasers in grade school and high school. I just had to have them all!  Didn't help that Mom was an enabler, too. 😆

One Piece

For you One Piece fans, they released new merch, too!

I texted my nephew godson and told him to choose from the One Piece merch.

He chose the blue notebook. The paper inside has a nice print, too.

My son was at the piano and I was looking at something that made me smile. I didn't know that he took a shot. He likes taking candid, moving shots like these.

So, I posed for him. 😊

Rain and Getting Stuck in the Mall

After we did the groceries, we tried to go home, but it was raining and it was hard to book a Grab or InDrive (our version of Lyft and Uber). I didn't drive because there's a lot of construction going on in the area and I knew that I was going to get very tired after shopping. We were finally able to book one, but the wait was 23 minutes. When he was 5 minutes away, he canceled! After that my son and I decided to eat as it was 5:30 pm already and we hadn't had lunch yet.

He chose Mary Grace.

I got my usual seafood pasta

He got his usual carbonara. We also shared a mango shake.

I kept looking at the chillis, but didn't add to my pasta as I was afraid that I'd get a tummy ache and I wasn't sure if we will be able to get a ride immediately.

By the way, our server was Ron, and he was excellent! He gave us these extra parmesan and chilli and also gave me an extra plate to put the shells in. He anticipated all our needs right out the bat that I didn't need to ask for anything! If anyone from Mary Grace is reading this, please give Kudos to Ron.

After dinner, we tried again and thank God we were able to book a ride! My battery was running low (15%) and I forgot to bring my powerbank. My son's phone was running low on juice, too. We got home a little after 7 pm.

We saw these socks on our way out.

Sneak peek

Extra bag to house my godson's notebook

Took a shot of my wrist candies (Murano beads, Swarovski, and semi-precious stones), my creations, while waiting for the Grab.

And that's it for today's Weekday Whimsy Diary. I'll feature more of my curated purchases from Miniso in my future posts, so stay tuned for those!

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
