Soft Saturday Diaries: Part 1 - Landers

This is a photo-heavy post that's why I'm breaking it into two parts.

✨ Today’s Look Breakdown ✨

Cheeks: NARS Orgasm, Bobbi Brown Bronzer, BYS Liquid Highlighter

Eyes: BYS Queen Bee: Dew, Pollen, Sweet, Honeycomb, Buzz, Hivemind.  BYS Eyeliner

Wrist Candies: My creations

Outfit: For Me and Uniqlo

Our day starts with a trip to Landers. I got all my totes ready for grocery shopping. I have both insulated bags and regular shopping bags from Landers.

A rainy view of one of my favorite malls, Mitsukoshi

It was cloudy when we left and when we were near Landers, the rain decided to finally fall.

Aside from the shopping totes, I also brought my regular tote that contains our water bottles, snack kit, etc.

We didn't know that Landers was on sale that day. How fortunate we are to be able to park at our usual spot. 😊

I saw these flip flops that reminded me of Ipanema flip flops. The price points are the same. To my Australian Glow Girls, any feedback on this brand? Is it durable and worth the price?

Childhood Sweets

While browsing the candy aisles, I found these childhood sweets.

I didn't particularly like Haw Flakes, but all of my friends and sister were eating them, so I succumbed to peer pressure and ate them, too. 😆

Only the original!

We had a lot of these hard candies from my grandma in the States

Kinder Joy was having a promo. You get a free Batman Tumbler with every box.

Quick Snacks, Quick Dinners

I normally just eat two full meals a day. I'm so busy that most of the time I don't notice the time and end up eating lunch between 4-6 pm. At night, I just eat a small snack. I thought these would be perfect. Easy to prepare, but still filling. I was also curious to try them.

I regularly make corndogs for my family, but sometimes I just don't have the energy anymore to cook. These will come in handy for nights when I don't want order takeout, but still want to eat something light.

Oh, I love these baguettes! The first time I encountered them, they were on BOGO! As Landers was also on sale that day, I got them for BOGO again, so I got four. I use them to make crostinis.

Hazelnut Croissants for hurried mornings or light night snacks. Fingers crossed🤞 these taste good.

More New Snacks to Try

I'm very curious as to how these crackers would taste like!

This is our favorite. My son and I can finish a bag in one sitting if we don't pace ourselves! 😆

Another huge favorite of ours! I believe I showed this to you in one of my old posts, as well as the Lucia breadsticks. I think we only have a few pieces left of this candy in our snack box

I've been seeing this for quite some time, but didn't buy because of the price. It was on sale so I asked my son if he wanted to try it and he said yes, so in it went into our cart.

We always have Meiji chocolate in our fridge, we especially like their black line.

I keep different kinds of crackers to eat in the morning before I start my morning chores and cooking breakfast to avoid low blood sugar.

Quick Lunch for ADHD Hyperfocused Days

We already tried this and a quick check in my food blog revealed that I haven't reviewed this yet. Will write about this soon after I post all my backlog food posts! 😁

I want to try this, too. Pork steak is cooked in a soy-calamansi-onion sauce and eaten with rice.

It seems that these are packaged as snacks, (maybe carnivore snacks?), but I got them to use for a dish I've been thinking about.

I like shopping for meats and chicken at Landers because I can wash my hands after touching them. They have soap, paper towels, and a trash bin that's so convenient for shoppers like me who like inspecting their meats before buying.

I was ecstatic when I saw this sign! I love shrimps, so of course I bought 2 kilos! As I type this, we've already used up a kilo. 😆

We walked around Landers with my son holding on to me like this. 😆 It was a challenge to shop, but I couldn't say no.

While we were at the noodle aisle, a lady went up to my cart and told me that there were 1-peso Pringles. Thank you, kind lady!

Original, Sour Cream, Cheese. We got all Sour Cream. We got 4 as my husband and I are both members.

I got three kinds of pasta and the big can of chopped tomatoes below. You can tell how much we love pasta.

Beauty Finds

There were so many new toiletries that day!

I want to try this. My skin reacts to Korean products positively, but I just bought a big bottle of Yardley's. Next time I'll be sure to buy a bottle.

I wanted to try this, but my very knowledgeable beauty junkie friend said that this will be too much for my hair.

I got a box of these. Review soon!

I've been eyeing this Dove trio for a long time, but I won't be able to use one variant as I"m allergic. They look so pretty boxed up like that.

I got this for my son, though.

The sensitive and cucumber variants were on sale, too! We use the sensitive variant, but I got the Deep Moisture variant as my son's skin is changing. We need more hydration!

Pretty bottles, but Olay is too harsh for me. Mom used to use Oil of Olay back in the day.

I wonder what's special about this set. They're more expensive than Dove, and yet they come in smaller bottles.

This is another product I'd like to try. Do you have any experiences to share about this product, minhas seguidoras lindas do Brasil? Share in the comments, please!

These are very affordable. I wonder if they're any good.

Johnson's Japan! I'm not a huge fan, but this made me do a double take!

This is a pretty good buy for all you St. Ives Facial Scrub fans out there. I remember, St. Ives was all the rage when I was a teen.

I'm a sucker for pretty bottles and I've been eyeing these Pears for a long time.

I want to try these, but I have to ask for clearance from my primary care provider first as I'm healing a skin infection.

This is also a pretty good buy, but I'm not familiar with the brand. Any experiences, Glow Ladies?

We got a few more things like chicken, beef, milk, etc. and then it was time to pay. While my husband was busy at the cashier, I took this time to get a quick rest as we were going to three more different places after this grocery run.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of my Soft Saturday Diary!

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
