Weekday Whimsy Diaries: Piano Day, H&M, Uniqlo, Mumuso, Duck Donuts, & Rice Meals

Some days just turn out a little funny, and this was one of them.

✨ Today’s Look Breakdown ✨

Lips: MAC Ruby New, Anastasia Caramel, BYS Plump It Peach Perfection

Eyes: BYS Golden Hour, Clio Kill Lash Mascara, BYS Eyeliner

Earrings: Inabella Handwoven Cordillera Textile Earrings

Shoes: Charles and Keith Knotted Accent Slide Sandals in White

Outfit: H&M

We started the afternoon with my son's piano lesson, then had a quick mall stroll.

My son's candid shots:

He likes taking shots while I'm still fixing my hair or my things.
We wanted to include the sleeping cat in the photo. Ayala Malls have cats everywhere. They are spayed/neutured and vaccinated and are cared for by different organizations and volunteers.

These (including below) were taken after I posed for him. I'm really liking his candid, moving shots.

Simple gestures, lasting memories. My hand in his, always.

First Stop: H&M

I found a few interesting things at H&M.

I really liked this varsity jacket, but I'm petite and this will overwhelm my frame

Beautiful, but it's too hot here.

I found a lot of pretty bows:

These scrunchies cost roughly $9. I thought they were too expensive.

Just when I thought the scrunchies were expensive, I found out that these bows are over $10!

I also liked these scarves, but they were roughly $14.

Reminds me of Onitsuka Tiger

Bag Hunting at Uniqlo

We went to Uniqlo next to look for a bag for my son. We have outgrown our current system for bringing his things to piano school. I forgot to take a photo of the bag we got, but here are some bags that I'm thinking of purchasing soon.

Restocking at Mumuso

We went to Mumuso next to buy my makeup remover.  I'm running low.

I took a photo of this because I didn't know what it was. I had an idea what it is and a quick Google search told me my hunch was correct. 😆

I'm a sucker for cute, multi-function water bottles.

I'm thinking of buying this on my next Mumuso run. It's glass. But straws are such a pain to wash. Don't you agree?

I've only noticed their window display that day! I"m always there! Why have I not noticed this before??😆

Walking side by side — different shoes, same journey.

Craving Donuts

My son and I have been craving doughnuts for several days and Duck Donuts has been on my list of  to-try. We were finally able to drop by that day.

Their ads say that they will make the doughnuts after you order. I was intrigued.

Pretty chairs. The place was practically empty except for a solo man at one table and a group at another.

Turns out, this is how they do it. They have several toppings and glaze on the counter and they will just dip the doughnuts according to the flavor you ordered.

At this point I was skeptical. I was thinking, this will probably be a brilliant or a terrible idea...  I was leaning towards terrible.

After we got the donuts, we went to Ramen Kuroda to order some takeaway. The restaurant's aircon is broken and we didn't want to eat there.

I'm thinking of trying the Strawberry Dream. My hands were already full, so I wasn't able to buy this

We saw these two large, beautiful dogs on our way to the resto. I love huge dogs!

Takeaway Lunch at Ramen Kuroda

We ordered salmon and pork teriyaki.

The teriyaki had burnt parts. It was delicious the first time I tried it. This bowl had a lot of pork! My son and I shared the pork and the salmon, but I still had a hard time finishing it.

Yep, it's a terrible idea. The glaze is too thin and watery that it just slid off the donuts.   I sliced each donut into four so everyone could taste all the flavors.

I wasn't even able to finish this plate. I had a tummy ache in the middle of eating, so I stopped. I think the idea is just good for when you eat the donuts immediately after serving. But we won't be buying these again. The tummy ache tells me to stay away.

So, yeah. The box looked better than it tasted. 😆

I was hungry later that night and asked my husband to cook some instant ramen for us.

Boring instant ramen.

Here's how I elevate it when I'm the one cooking it:

Not all dates end up glamorous like this one. We still had fun window shopping and keeping each other company though that's why it earned a spot in my Weekday Whimsy Diaries. How's your week going?

Soft Luxe Staycations: Binondo Series - The Great Buddha, Curated Purchases from Eng Bee Tin, and Last Thoughts About Ramada

After buying a lot of stuff on the first floor, we headed upstairs to eat a light lunch. Mom was getting hungry. My son and I just ate, but we said that we will accompany her and will just order something light.

All About Eyes

Lately I’m finding myself obsessed with skin care products, prevention in particular. I'm not getting younger and nobody likes lines and wrinkles, right? I should have done this in my early twenties but those were hard times and we didn’t have enough to support our daily lives, let alone vanity splurges. So now, I’m on hyper mode. I did not place any expectations on this product. I’ve had it with products claiming they can do this and that. I just tried the product thinking that if it works then great, if not then I’ll just find a new one. I wasn’t expecting a dramatic change but 2 weeks into using this product, I noticed that my under eye area has become lighter. The lines are also not as deep as they were before I used this product. I stopped using the Garnier eye products because I’m allergic to them so that means I’m not using any whitening products for that area. I am truly impressed with this product. I didn’t take a before and after photo as I wasn’t expecting this at ...

When You Need a Tiny Reset (Glow Cards Are Here)

The shade is actually a dusty mauve or muted orchid. It looks blue on the image, but it's not blue.  There are days when I don’t need a full day off — I just need a moment. A tiny reset. A quiet pause in the swirl of noise. That’s how Glow Cards were born.
