Soft Saturday Diaries: SM Adventures, Shakey's, Rustan's, and a Blush That Survived Rosacea

Some Saturdays feel like a slow sip of iced tea, others feel like running on autopilot with a to-do list that never ends. Last Saturday? It was both. A mix of errands, mall hopping, tiny self-care rituals, and a stubborn rosacea flare that decided to tag along. But Glow Girls, if there’s one thing I’m learning on this soft life journey, it’s this — the glow isn’t about perfection. It’s about savoring the little moments that make life feel luxe, even when the day feels messy.

Glow Ladies, the glow doesn’t come from perfect days — it comes from collecting tiny soft-life moments that make you smile, even when the schedule’s packed and your skin is staging a protest.

Mini Glow Look of the Day

Here’s my soft Saturday face — a little glam to feel put together without going full red-carpet.

Here's today's All Eyes on Glow: Moonlit Denim

Eyeshadows: Bobbi Brown Opal and Cobra, Urban Decay Omen and Half Truth, MAC White Frost
Eyeliner: BYS

Some days, makeup isn’t just about color — it’s armor, confidence, and a little magic you carry with you through every errand and every stoplight.

💡 Reality check: What looked glowy in real life barely showed in photos — the eternal Glow Girl struggle. But I’ll take the tiny victories. At least my winged liner stayed loyal.

Greenbelt, The Landmark, and Japan Home

Our day started at Greenbelt. I needed to buy something from Watsons. I also took the time to look around Mango. They're still on sale, by the way, but I didn't find anything that I liked.

At Landmark, I was able to buy some accessories. You'll see them in the coming days.

We passed by Japan Home and I got these:

We went there to get the rug, but I was shocked to see Hunter's on the shelf! It's our favorite! And it's cheaper than Landers' and Rustan's! Of course I got one!

This is why I call these errands soft-life adventures — it’s never just about what I buy, but how these little surprises make me feel along the way.

Mini Adventure at SM & Rustan’s

We met my husband at SM. The boys had an errand there. While they were doing that, I checked out the supermarket. I was looking for some things that only SM carries, but I got distracted when I saw that there's a Miniso there!

I saw a few things that were not at Miniso Century City.

How adorable is this pink purse?

One Piece cups with straws

I was crushing on this Barbie makeup kit because of the zipper. Look below.

But decided that it was too expensive for a makeup kit. Read why I don't like using expensive kits here.

I went to H&M, too where I found a few goodies. Will share that soon.

After SM, we went to Rustans to look for a few things for my son.

Sometimes mall errands feel like a rush, but last Saturday felt like little pockets of joy.

We went to Muji Cafe to buy more pandesal. I also got their Ube Pandesal to try.

I bought some shirts, too.

Miniso Minimalist Cream Blush – First Impressions

I grabbed this little pot at Miniso during our Century City trip. Ayessa, our Glow Guide at Miniso for the day, said that it's from their latest line of makeup - The Minimalist.

Shade 07 for me. To see the other shades, check out this post

I was really looking for a cream blush before I decided to go to Century City. As a matter of fact, I was going to check BYS at Watsons for exactly that. This cream blus was a surprise find from Miniso!

Ayessa was kind enough to open some to be used as testers. One swipe with my finger and I was in love.

It's creamy and very blendable, very buildable, too. It has a very faint floral smell. I don't smell it when I apply the blush on my cheeks.

I used a brush to get the product and apply to my face. I'm just used to sponges and brushes even with cream makeup, so I rarely use my fingers. Just a couple of swipes and my cheeks lit up with color. The shade is flattering on my skin tone.

The product melted into my skin, and somehow made the rosacea redness look intentional by late afternoon.  (Glow Girls, you know that accidental “sun-kissed flush” vibe? Yup, nailed it without trying.) See below.

I snapped this in the Muji fitting room after a whirlwind of errands (about 4 hours in). My eyeliner stayed sharp (of course. Thank you, BYS!), my lips stayed glossy (thank you, Anastasia!), and my blush held up… even against a late-afternoon rosacea party on my cheeks.

Would I repurchase? Honestly, yes. Affordable ($4.31), travel-friendly, and a life-saver for a quick mall glam touch-up. I hope they  come up with other shades, though.

Glow Girls, it’s wild how one swipe of blush can change not just your face but your whole mood. Even a rosacea flare couldn’t dull this glow.

Snack Stop at Shakey’s

Every Glow Girl adventure needs a snack break, or in our case, a lunch break. Pizza, mojos, chicken fingers, and a much-needed sit-down before heading home. Not the softest meal, but hey — comfort food has its own kind of luxe energy.

Soft Life Moments I’m Keeping

Even with a flare-up, an endless list of stops, and the usual Saturday rush, there were moments that felt beautiful: a swipe of blush that actually worked, a peaceful Muji fitting room, the perfect little tote scarf find.

That’s the soft life I’m chasing — not the perfect day, but the perfectly imperfect moments that make me smile when I finally kick off my shoes at home.

Saw this on our way home. I love Joel's Place. Lots of interesting things to see and experience. Next time I'll take you on a photo trip there.

Glow Girls, what are your weekend must-haves? The blush you swear by? A store that never disappoints? Drop them below — let’s keep sharing all the tiny luxuries that make our days glow. ✨

Because the soft life isn’t about curated perfection — it’s about these messy, real, tender moments that keep our glow alive, one errand and one giggle at a time.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
