Currently Loving: 5 Soft Luxe Little Joys This Week

There’s something about slowing down and noticing the little things that make life sweeter. This week, I’ve been savoring moments and items that don’t scream luxury, but whisper it in the gentlest way. From a mundane hygiene product to a treat I couldn’t resist, here are five things making my days softer, warmer, and just a little more luxe.

1 — Miniso Golden Cap Oil-Based Nail Polish

I got this from one of our Miniso trips. The thing that caught my eye? The golden cap. Just look at that bottle! It looks so luxe! It’s that quiet kind of luxury — the one that doesn’t shout, but makes you feel like you have a little secret every time you glance at your hands.

Then of course, the shade! Green is my favorite color, especially forest green and dark greens, so I immediately grabbed this.

I normally don't clean up my polish because I wash a lot of dishes and keep washing my hands and the excess just naturally gets washed off.

This is an oil-based polish. I talked about it more in this post.

The scent is just like any nail polish. Nothing special. It feels luxe because of the finish and the shade. This is 09 Dark Green, by the way.

It doesn't have a lot of staying power, but then again, I do wash my hands a lot.

I wear it when I want to feel extra posh.

2 — Mumuso Nourishing Nail Polish Remover Pads in Grape

This wasn't a planned purchase at all, but was a part of my huge Mumuso purchase. I was done shopping and was at checkout when the cashier showed me a bunch of sale items including this one. So, I got it. It was 50% off, I think.

The grape scent is what drew me in. I love grape-scented products. I've tried another Mumuso nail polish remover pad in a different scent and I was happy with it. I had the same expectations for this one and it didn't disappoint.

I'm done with the strawberry variant and am now currently using this. I love these compact nail polish remover pads because I can take them with me when I travel. I like the fact that it's grab and go. Just grab a pad and remove polish. Unlike when I used the liquid removers, I had to get cotton pads first and then pump the bottle to get product. This saves me so much time. It’s such a tiny swap, but it feels like I’ve bought myself an extra five minutes of peace — and that’s priceless on busy days.

I got another on-sale polish remover pad in Milk and I'm excited to try that as well.

3 — BYS Plump It! Plumping Lipgloss

Regular Glow Ladies know that I was averse to using lipgloss for many years. But these ladies changed my mind. Now, I can't get enough of them!

My skin is dry and so are my lips because of the health things I'm going through right now, so I'm really looking for hydration when it comes to makeup. And what better way to make lips look hydrated than with a good lipgloss, right?

I was very excited when I first got these. I've been putting off buying them because they're pricey because they're wearable makeup. However, BYS was on BOGO last weekend and that was my green light to finally get not one, but two!

There’s something about a fresh gloss that feels like pressing ‘refresh’ on my whole mood — instant shine, instant confidence.

I will make a separate review of these, so stay tuned for that!

These are now regulars in my going out looks. I hope BYS makes another version of lip gloss before these run out!

4 — Anko Grapefruit Hand Sanitiser

I stopped using hand sanitizers for many years because they make my already dry hands, drier. I can make my own hand sanitizer using essential oils, but I'm too sensitive for essential oils nowadays, and opt to just wash my hands. One day, we were out in the mall and I think it was a restaurant and there was something on the table. I wanted to sanitize it, but didn't have any that's why I got this when we went to Anko.

At first it was just for surface cleaning and occasional hand sanitizing, but as the days passed, I found myself reaching for it more and more. It's great for quick sanitizing. The scent is light and refreshing and doesn't dry out my hands as much as other sanitizers do.

Will I buy this again? It's highly probable. I'd like to try the ones from Mumuso as well, but will keep this on hand in case I don't like the Mumuso one.

It’s not just a sanitiser — it’s a small, sparkling moment of self-care I can carry in my bag.

5 — BYS Soft Suede Lip Mousse

This is one of the first BYS items I've ever bought. Doing a quick search on my blog revealed that I have yet to make a proper review of this lip product. I will soon, I promise.

I included it on my list because this has become a staple in my makeup kit. I've used this plenty of times before as a touch up lipstick, after eating when we're in the mall.

It's a lip mousse so it doesn't dry up my lips as much as a matte lipstick.  I would buy another shade when I see this again, but if I remember correctly, I think this is a sold out item. Maybe that’s what makes me treasure it more — knowing it’s one of those rare finds you can’t easily replace.

Wrapping Up This Week’s Little Luxuries

Some weeks are for big changes. Others — like this one — are for gentle moments and thoughtful details. These little luxuries remind me that beauty doesn’t always have to be loud or grand to be felt deeply. Here’s to another week of finding joy in the smallest, softest ways.  Because at the end of the day, the little things are what keep our days feeling beautiful — and our hearts, quietly full.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
