I Left the House After Over a Week…And This Is What I Realized About Healing
I left the house yesterday after more than a week of staying in.
Not because I had to.
But because I finally felt like I could.
And I thought I was ready.
The first thing I noticed wasn’t the stores, or the things I wanted to buy.
It was the space.
The lights. The movement. The people.
It felt… a little too much.
My body remembered something my mind was still trying to process.
I had moments where I needed to slow down.
To sit. To look at shelves instead of people.
To ground myself in something still.
Or even to just look at our feet.
And for a second, I wondered if I had lost progress.
If I was “back to zero.”
But I wasn’t.
Because I didn’t leave.
I stayed.
I walked into four different stores.
I chose things I loved.
I even found joy again in the smallest details—paper, pens, textures.
That’s not going backwards.
That’s healing… in motion.
