Soft Luxe Travels: The Chrismas Fair at Burnham Park Part 2 and a 24K Gold Eye Mask
As promised, here are more photos from the park!
I went here to look at the leather goods. They have free name engraving. I wanted to buy a coin purse for my husband, but they only had one style. I passed.
This booth sells lots of perfume, lotion, body washes ala Bath and Body Works
I wanted to try the Vietnamese fried spring rolls from this booth, but I was checking to see if they have a fryer. I couldn't find one. How were they going to prepare the fried spring rolls? Or maybe it's somewhere I couldn't see?
I wanted to try the food in this booth, too. But my son was set on eating the sinigang na salmon from Raquel's Forest House that night. My son and I always share food and it didn't feel right to buy this.
It's not the leaning tower of Pisa. It's the Colosseum. 😆
I got the strawberry mango pizza from this place. Will write about that soon in my food blog.
So many wonderful Christmas decorations at this booth
I love the pink nutcrackers
I wanted to taste their lechon over garlic rice, but again, my son didn't want to. I tried their okoy instead. I'll write about that in my food blog, too,
There was a choir singing
Wanted to taste the pasta in the cheese wheel, but after watching for a minute, I felt like it was gonna be too much cheese for me. 😆
Rolled ice cream.. which they will apparently fry?? Didn't stay long enough to see the process
This is what I saw from the car that's why I wanted to go to the park. I have yet to taste the food at James Wright. Next time, James!
Beautiful Eiffel Tower replica at night
We finally went home and while I was cleaning up, I heard fireworks and looked out the window.
Later that Night...
For the Exhale part of my trip, I chose to try these 24K Gold Collagen Essence Eye Mask from KKV.
They are very flimsy, as you can see in the photo. One was already torn. I tore off that hanging piece then proceeded to apply the mask to my under eye area. I left it on for 15 minutes
The mask itself smelled like plastic. I didn't like it, but I left it on to see how the essence will work on me.
I washed it off after removing the mask. (To make sure I don't have a reaction.) My under eye area really did feel a little relaxed. Bonus points because I didn't react to it during the 15 minutes it was on. I think with continued use, this could really be beneficial. The smell is my only problem and because of that, I will not buy this again. I have other eye masks that I want to try.
I will leave you with this short video of some of the wonderful decor at that booth in Burnham and of the fireworks. Please excuse my son's comment. I had to cut the video short as he was talking too much. 🙄
The Christmas Fair will be there until January. Don't miss it if you're going there. Lots of people at night so be sure to come early if you want to get some shopping and food tripping done.

If you’re a brand, PR agency, or fellow creative who believes in adding beauty, meaning, and intention to everyday life, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s a product you’d like me to try, a place you’d love me to experience, or a story waiting to be told — let’s create something lovely together.
My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...
In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic. I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip. However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day! Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...
Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday. Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette. Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
