Soft Luxe Travels: Mango SM Baguio, Fun Finds at Art Bar, and My Curated Purchases

Happy Christmas, Glow Ladies! How was/is your Christmas Eve? I wish that you are surrounded with the love of family and friends, laughter, and the Miracle of the Season.

Let's continue with my Baguio Soft Luxe Travel Diary starting with..

Mango

Another regular stop in SM Baguio is Mango. It's no secret that I love Mango. I've been buying from this brand ever since they opened their boutique in Greenbelt.

This leather jacket would be brutal for Manila's heat, but perfect for Baguio's cool weather.

I love that embroidered detail, but we all know that white pants are tricky.

I like this shirt, but it's going to be summer soon and I won't be able to wear it as much as I'd like to. It usually starts getting hot in mid February.

Pretty scarf

I also like this, but this is not my shade of blue.

I have the navy blue version of this. 😊

This is another perfect Baguio look!

Yes, please! But still a Baguio look. well for Manila, you can ditch the jacket after work.

I also like this dress but the straps are too long.

More beautiful scarves

Art Bar

We were waiting for my mom, so I told my sister and son to just stay sitting where they were (in front of Mango), while I go to Art Bar. On the way there, I noticed this:

Is Forever 21 moving out or moving to a different location?

I'm not a fan of this brand. I don't like the quality of their clothes.

Art Bar is one of my favorite art stores. It's a shame, I can't buy anything because I don't have the time to pursue my hobbies like water coloring, pen coloring, etc. My son has also stopped painting ever since his art mentor left for the US. I've been encouraging him thoiugh, because he's pretty good at it.

Yes, to these Mont Marte poster paints! Mont Marte is one of my favorite brands. I have an ottoman full of Mont Marte stuff!

This is the view from Art Bar. Sigh..

Love these fluoro poster paints, too! They remind me of fabric paints. Mom and I used to customize our shirts using fabric paints when I was a kid. Also loved customizing my Tretorn sneakers. 😁

When I have more time to pursue my hobbies, I got you on my list, Koi!

I'm not a fan of the OG Stabilo because they're awkward to hold with my small hands and fingers, but I love these skinny ones! I have a few in my stash. I really wanted to buy this 18-color set, but I still have so many highlighters. Inhale. Exhale. Self-control.

I used this brand when I was teaching. I asked my students to make their own clay tablets using this clay and write cuneiform on it.

I like these drawing pads, but felt that they were a little overpriced.

I want to try this brand. Any feedback?

I love the fun designs on these Stabilos

Ohuhu is another brand on my wish list. I've been holding off because, well, I don't have the time! I should really carve some time for my hobbies. It could be a part of my mental health program.

These are great for gifts. I almost bought it just for the pouch! 😆

This is a good brand. My son's paintings still look the same even after 9 years.

I'd like these markers too, but I was told Ohuhu is better. I do like the case. If you're a busy artist meeting clients, this will be perfect to lug around.

My Curated Purchases

These are from Miniso. I am loving that lamp! It lasts a long time. My first Miniso lamp is bigger, but doesn't last a long time. I need to keep charging it.

The other one is for mom.

I had to buy a pack of these Barbie makeup sponges because we extended our vacation and my disposable ones were running out.

Forgot to add this to the group photo! It was hiding behind my other toiletries.

I got these from Mango. I thought an orange bag would be a fun addition to my wardrobe.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
