Soft Luxe Travels Day 1: Interesting Things I Saw at a 7-11, A Korean Noodle Place, and a Nose Pore Strip that Hurt

It's Day 1 of our trip. After we checked into the hotel, we went to a nearby 7-11 to buy some water and ice. I forgot to bring our reusable water bottles! I already brought one 6.6L bottle, 2 big Evian, and cups for the hotel, but I forgot to bring out travel bottle! 😆

I decided to wear a sundress to the hotel because it was hot.

And blue eyeshadow! I didn't bother layering and blending too much as we were in a hurry. It was late in the afternoon and we needed to beat the traffic. It turned out nice as the day wore on. I used my BYS Blue Moon palette for this and my MAC lipstick. I will update this post when I get home as I forgot the shade of the lipstick.

7-11

I don't go to a lot of 7-11s because they stock mostly the same items in my city. I was suprised with this branch, though.

Rose flavored Pocky?! And look at the box design!

Sugar-free Mentos in Grape and Peach..in a cute tin can!

I don't know what's inside, but I"m guessing cookies. I love these tin lunchboxes.

Stocking stuffer alert!

Mom was also curious about this

This is also great as a stocking stuffer

Fox's has been around for so long. I just took a photo because I haven't been seeing it in my local grocery. Or maybe it's because I don't always go to the candy aisle. 😁

They have Korean iced coffee! What kind of 7-11 is this??

And don't get me started on these meals!

Have I been living under a rock to not know about these??

They even have Kani-Mango Sandwich??

I'm very curious about these snacks and meals, but honestly? I'm scared to try as it might trigger an allergic reaction. Has anyone who is sensitive tried these? I'd appreciate a comment below. What was your experience?

That Spam Kimchi Fried Rice with Cheese looks promising

I like this thoughtful touch from Hallmark. It's December and a lot of parties are happening. A lot of people scramble for last minute gifts. And most of them need it on the last hour when the malls are closed or packed with people. Whereas a 7-11 is open 24/7. I'm pretty sure this tiny corner has helped a lot of people give a decent gift.

Come to think of it, you can put together a nice gift bag with just 7-11 things. Should I go and assemble some? Leave a comment below if you want to see some!

Kim's Ramyun

We passed by this Ramyun place. At first I thought it was a Korean restaurant from afar. But upon closer inspection, they sold instant noodles! It's one of those shops in Korea where you can customize your ramen experience. I've only seen one store in BGC that's like this, but it was small. Kim's has a huge floor area!

Lots of choices, but they don't have our favorite ramyun

They're also selling other Korean goodies

The best way to finish ramyun? With ice cream, of course!

For this section, I think you can get some of these frozen food and ask the staff to cook them for you.

These toppings and extra banchan and ingredients for the ramyun are too far from the noodles, but are near the cooking pots and pans that you will use to cook your noodles in

Legit Korean kitchenware! I feel like I wanna try! Maybe next time.

KKV Avocado Nose Pore Strips

We went back to the hotel after Kim's and ordered dinner via Grab Food.

After a hearty dinner, I started to wind down and choose a few things from my Exhale Kit

I chose to try this one first.

I forgot to take a photo of the strip itself, but it looks exactly like that on the cover.

I wore this for 15 minutes until it was fully dry then proceeded to remove it. It was painful! It was stuck on my skin real good. When I managed to peel it off, I checked and I think it got a lot of facial hairs. I'm not sure if what it got from my nose were facial hairs or blackheads. 😆 However, my nose feels smoother now.

The strip was stuck on there too tight that the strip tore a little, leaving a few bits around the corners of my nose. It took some time to wash them away.

I will try this again and next time, I'll only leave it on for 10 minutes or so.

And that ends Day 1 of our trip. Stay tuned for Day 2!

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
