Weekday Whimsy Diaries: City of Manila Photo Tour, Purple Oven, and My Curated Food Purchases

We continue our Weekday Whimsy Diaries featuring the City of Manila.

This is the National Museum again, but from a different angle.

Luneta

Philippine General Hospital

University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital

De La Salle University Bro Andrew Hall

La Salle has 3 buildings in this area plus the Benilde Campus.

La Salle Main

I took a lot of photos of La Salle because my godson studies at La Salle in the province.
 I showed these to him.

This is the 3rd building. I think this is for the arts.

Purple Oven

On the way home, we passed by Purple Oven. My sister said we should stop.

We almost missed it because they have a tiny sign!

This is the first branch of Purple Oven.

I always take a moment to appreciate art.

Here's what they have that day. It was still early in the afternoon, but their wares were almost sold out.

Their brownies are their bestseller

Running out of cakes!

The Great Buddha Lunch at Home

I ordered siomai and hakaw for takeaway from Great Buddha, the restaurant on the second floor of Eng Bee Tin.

I really liked the hakaw. It didn't have big bits of ginger, which I can't eat. It had 1.5 shrimps inside. I also got a frozen version of this. I'm really glad I did!

I wasn't able to taste the siomai as my son ate everything! Next time, I'll be sure to order extra. 😆

Curated Eng Bee Tin and Purple Oven Purchases

Here's what I got on my second trip to Eng Bee Tin:

Egg Pandesal, Asado Roll, Chocolate and Lemon Chiffon Rolls, Mango Tart, Fortune Cookies, Floss

Here's what I got from Purple Oven:

Half a box of brownies and sourdough bread

Soft Luxe Staycations: Binondo Series - The Great Buddha, Curated Purchases from Eng Bee Tin, and Last Thoughts About Ramada

After buying a lot of stuff on the first floor, we headed upstairs to eat a light lunch. Mom was getting hungry. My son and I just ate, but we said that we will accompany her and will just order something light.

All About Eyes

Lately I’m finding myself obsessed with skin care products, prevention in particular. I'm not getting younger and nobody likes lines and wrinkles, right? I should have done this in my early twenties but those were hard times and we didn’t have enough to support our daily lives, let alone vanity splurges. So now, I’m on hyper mode. I did not place any expectations on this product. I’ve had it with products claiming they can do this and that. I just tried the product thinking that if it works then great, if not then I’ll just find a new one. I wasn’t expecting a dramatic change but 2 weeks into using this product, I noticed that my under eye area has become lighter. The lines are also not as deep as they were before I used this product. I stopped using the Garnier eye products because I’m allergic to them so that means I’m not using any whitening products for that area. I am truly impressed with this product. I didn’t take a before and after photo as I wasn’t expecting this at ...

When You Need a Tiny Reset (Glow Cards Are Here)

The shade is actually a dusty mauve or muted orchid. It looks blue on the image, but it's not blue.  There are days when I don’t need a full day off — I just need a moment. A tiny reset. A quiet pause in the swirl of noise. That’s how Glow Cards were born.
