Weekday Whimsy Diaries: UP Town Center
We went on another staycation at Red Planet Hotel last weekend. We were supposed to go to Subic the next day for an event, but it was canceled due to the typhoon.
We decided to just explore the malls in the area.
I don't know the name of this bridge, but I found it interesting.
After dropping our bags in our hotel room, my son and I went to UP Town Center. We used to frequent this mall back when my son was doing hybrid classes at a school nearby. It's been years since we last went.
UP Town Center
Regular Glow Girls know how much I like writing and featuring the Ayala Malls Cats. This is exactly what I've been saying. They don't need to be fed as they are already cared for. Giving them table food is actually harmful, espcially for their kidneys as the salt can really make them sick.UP Town Center is a huge mall! This is just one part of it.
We went to Uniqlo to shop for clothes for my son:
I also got a crossbody bag for me and mom. I'll show you in a future post.
Flying Tiger Copenhagen
Flying Tiger Copenhagen is one of my favorite stores. I usually just window shop and browse their seasonal offerings. But this time, I couldn't resist.I used to love giving cards. It's nice to see some stores like Typo and Flying Tiger still carry cards.
Look at this adorable tissue pack! I was contemplating buying one.
Their Christmas Line is big and beautiful.
That bead jewelry creation set is the perfect activity with kids while enjoying a mug of hot cocoa.
When my son was younger, I would give him pens and pencils that reflect the holiday or season we're in. I'm a sucker for cute pens. Fortunately, I didn't buy any this time.
Pretty perfume bottles. Hmm... Come to think of it, why didn't I get one?
Cat candle holders
I was thinking of buying these chopstick rests, but decided that I still have a lot so passed.
Christmas activity kits for the win! Keep the kids busy during the holidays. Plus family bonding time. When my son was younger, I always planned Christmas activities and adventures. We had an advent calendar, too!
The autumn line was on sale. I wanted to buy that acorn napkin set, but put it back as I still have some table napkins to go through. Plus it's not season appropriate anymore.
I would love to get some of these glasses, but by this time, my basket was already getting heavy and I thought that it would be hard to bring this back home from the hotel, what with all of our luggage.
I like that red plate.
Nutcracker candles
I love these bowls. That handpainted gingerbread house plate went home with me. I couldn't resist! The gingerbread man tin and plastic Santa containers are great for gift-giving.
Mugs! Another addiction of mine are mugs. But I try to reign myself in because I don't drink coffee, and rarely, tea. So I really don't have much use for them.
Wonderful Christmas lights
Paul Cafe
We were supposed to go to UP to meet my mom and sister, but we couldn't get a car. It was almost 6 pm and we haven't had lunch yet. My son and I decided to have a snack at Paul.
We each got pain au chocolat
Little Quiapo
Mom, sis, and Kuya Fil just picked us up after work as we couldn't get a ride to go to them. We had dinner at Little Quiapo again.
Pancit Canton
Tortang Talong
Pork Barbecue
There was also chicken tinola, but I wasn't able to take a photo anymore. I was tired and hungry and it completely left my mind. Plus it arrived later than the rest of the food.
It was a full moon that night. My son and I kept trying hard to get a good shot. This is the best photo I got. The moon was beautiful.
After dinner, we headed back to the hotel. It's funny because Kuya Fil thought he had to take my son and I home! He didn't hear mom tell him to head to the hotel. He went another way to our city! I told him that we were staying at the hotel, too! He was surprised! We had an impromptu joyride!
That was Day 1 of our staycation. Stay tuned for more!
