Soft Saturday Diaries: SM North and KKV

We continue our staycation series with a trip to SM North.

We got there at around 11 am. My son and I haven't had breakfast yet. My mom needed to eat lunch, too,  so I asked her where she wanted to eat.

Our first meal of the day from Kenny Rogers:

Chicken, coleslaw, sour cream & chives potatoes, rice

First Stop: KKV

Beauty

There was a Christmas display at the entrance. Here are some interesting things I found:

Christmas socks in this adorable packaging! This is a great stocking stuffer!

These makeup kits are very affordable and would make good stocking stuffers, too.

I wanted to try this shower gel, but felt that it was too expensive. What if I react to it? But now that I look at it, I think I'll try it next time..if it's still there, that is. I'm thinking of curating my Christmas toiletries.

I'm a huge fan of steam eye masks, so after checking that the ingredients are safe for me, I put this in my cart.

I have very dry feet so I got this foot mask, too.

Can you believe that these are handmade soaps??

Pretty body wash like my Mumuso sakura body wash

I'm also liking these. I'm a sucker for body washes. As you may know, I have to rotate toiletries regularly to avoid having an immune reaction.

These are hair masks. I was thinking of buying one, but my bestie said that my hair is already shiny and beautiful and to stick to my current products. She's worried I'd get a reaction.

Body Scrubs in fun tubes

Food

I was intrigued by these. So, you have to put them in the freezer? But if they're frozen, how do you suck them from the nozzle?

They had lots of flan...

And these fruit jelly candies. They have a lot of gummy and jelly candies.

Lots of these DIY snacks that went viral several years ago.

Lots of Peanuts snacks. We already tried those bagel bites. Read my review here

The printed tissues were in the food section. Hmm... Coz you need to wipe your face after you eat? 😆

 Snoopy and Peanuts cookies

More Snoopy snacks

Snoopy fruit gummies

It seems that Peanuts are in these days. I passed by Anello and they're featuring Snoopy and Charlie Brown Bags. I'm still thinking if I want to buy the Charlie Brown shoulder bag. 🤔

Of course, I got more of Chef Nic's pasta kits! Read my review here.

I absolutely loved this wall of noodles! They're just for display though. You can't buy the actual noodles.

It's so creative, but also got me thinking - WHY? KKV carries a ton of products - beauty, food, toys, homeware, etc. So, why the noodle wall? What's the rationale? And they also carry noodles that are directly competing with the brands on the wall. I would've done it differently. But that's the marketer, creative, creator in me speaking. Still, if KKV wants to hear my ideas, shoot me a message. But only after signing an NDA. 😊

Moving on.

Here's another installation that I'm impressed with, but have strong opinions about.

Toys & Stationery

Minions! We love Minions, and got Bob.

I'm a Sesame Street kid, so this is my jam!

Look at these pretty stickers!

This branch has a lot of pens!

I took a photo of the correctors as my son hoarded them once upon a time. 😁

More Peanuts stuff but this time, homeware

Me: Son, we're here for Chef Nic pasta kits.
Also Me after 30 mins: See photo above. 😆

SM Malls are known for their extravagant Christmas displays and SM North delivered.

Hmm.. I'm pretty sure I got a photo of the va-bles (as my son calls them). They are bubbles that turn into vapor when they pop. Oh, there! You just have to zoom into the structure.

My son and I couldn't believe that we have a Stanley store here! 😁

Oh, Stanley... 😏

We went to Muji after. I'll show you my purchases at the end of this post.

More Quirky Stuff Around the Mall

You ladies know me, right? If something piques my interest, I snap a photo. Such is the plight of this tissue dispenser in one of the bathrooms in the mall. My son commented that it looks like the dispenser is vomiting tissue. 😆

The tissue comes out all twirled up from the middle. Extra work to fix it and fold it properly.

My son and I had a laugh over this corned beef with cornicks meal. Me again: WHY? For texture?

This is pretty creative but also, umay (Umay is when your tastebuds get sick of something)

I ended up with 4 bags that day:

Here are my curated purchases:

I forgot to bring a hair tie or clamp to the hotel, so I got this. I put it in my travel bag already and it will live there until it breaks.

These are from Muji and The Face Shop

These are from KKV

This jewelry box is actually from Flying Tiger Copenhagen that I got the previous day. Read about it here.

That's it for Day 2 of our staycation.
