A While Back - Shopping for PBF Outfits at Zara…and the Disappointment That Followed

I don’t usually buy from Zara because for me, they have weird sizing. The small is too small and the medium is too big. But it was a week away from PBF (Philippine Book Festival) and I needed some outfits fast! So, off I went to Zara.

Here are a few interesting things I found.

I really liked this denim dress, but the size was weird! The large doesn’t even fit my hips!

This is giving me a lot of juvenile vibes, but this would look pretty on a teen or young adult.

I like the neck detail, but was all “what?” At the sleeves.

Too sexy, too revealing for me. Where would you even wear this? I guess maybe this would look nice under a buttoned blazer for a layer of mystique on a date night with your husband.

I ended up buying this brown top.

I also liked this structured dress, but that cut in the middle is a big no in my book. I want to look professional, an author. No skin like that.

This blouse drew me in the moment I saw it from a distance.

It also came in sage. I almost bought both, but, as luck would have it, I didn’t have enough budget for two. I say luck because after washing the white blouse, it shrank! I was so disappointed! And this blouse wasn’t cheap either.

I did some research and it turns out that a lot of people experience this kind of shrinkage from Zara pieces. Zara is known to use these mixed synthetic fabrics that shrink.

It’s a good thing I decided to have a dress rehearsal before the event, so I wore the blouse one day to the mall. I kept adjusting on the chest area. There were gaps. It’s only been a few days and I’m sure I didn’t put on any extra weight plus my other tops still fit.

I was very disappointed.. Suffice it to say, I’m not buying from this brand again.
