The Gloss That Made Me Learn Control (The Hard Way)

 

I didn’t expect these glosses to humble me.

At first glance, they’re cute, fun, and very “throw in your bag and go.” The kind you don’t overthink… until you do.

Because the first thing you need to know?

These are not forgiving if you get a little too generous.

One time, I applied just a bit more than usual. Nothing crazy. Or so I thought.

I went about my day, walked around the mall, completely unbothered… until this guy did a double take on me. It wasn’t the good look again kind. So,  I checked the mirror.

And there it was.

It had already slipped below my lower lip.

That was the moment I realized… this gloss doesn’t stay where you put it if you overdo it.

Unlike the peptide lip tint that I wrote about the other day, which has that thicker, more controlled texture, this one is the opposite.

Thin. Light. A little runny.

So a tiny amount goes a very long way.

But when you get it right?

That’s when it shines.

It gives that juicy, glassy finish that makes your lips look fresh, soft, and effortlessly put together. The kind of gloss that catches light in the prettiest way.

It makes me feel like a young girl again. ☺️

As for the shades:

• Peach – I usually layer this over reds. It softens the intensity and adds that glossy warmth. The flavor is a bit strong for me… not something I love, but not enough to stop me from using it.

• Coconut – This one feels easier. I reach for it with pinks and neutrals. It blends seamlessly into softer looks.

About the plumping effect? I don’t notice it. To me, this is just a regular gloss. 

What I like about these is how they fit into my current routine.

They’re not precious. They’re not something I’d cry over if lost.

They’re functional, pretty, and replaceable… which is exactly what I want for things I bring outside.

Just remember this one rule:

Apply lightly.

Because with this gloss, control is everything.
