It’s Not Worth It If You Have to Endure It

Remember when I got this blush? I wrote about it in this post

I really, really like it. I’ve been using it little by little because the Miniso branch near me closed last December.

The shade suits my skin tone well, even when I get acidic and it oxidizes, it’s still a pretty color.

Now fast forward to January, maybe. I got this blush from Mumuso.

I’ve been looking for one particular Mumuso product, but couldn’t find it, so I decided to try this blush.

Big mistake. That shiny apple in the middle? That’s actually a silver-gray shade. You absolutely cannot use that on your cheeks unless it’s costume makeup. I had to wipe that part with tissue until it was all peach.

The texture is nice as it’s a cream blush. Do you know when people gush about makeup being highly pigmented? I guess this product was too much for me. I can’t build it. I apply just a tiny amount, but it already comes out very red.

I’ve tried different techniques, but it doesn’t work. Maybe it’s not right for my skin tone. Maybe my cheeks are too red for it.

I don’t know.

What I know is, it doesn’t work for me.

As you can see, there’s still a lot of product in the Mumuso compact. For a while, I let this sit on my desk, thinking that it would be a waste to throw this away or even to give it away.

So I kept using it, even if it irritated me while I applied it.

I kept using it even though I had to keep toning it down and doing trial and error every time.

Until one day, I stopped.

I’ve had enough.

I thought, all this pinching pennies act is not worth it if I had to endure it. So, I took some photos and decided to put it in my Give box.

And that’s the end of that.

The Minimalist blush is very buildable

The relief that I got after making that decision was the best. Sure, it’s just a piece of makeup. But that thing carried with it old programming - attitudes and beliefs that no longer serve the woman I am today.

It was like shedding a part of me that I no longer wanted to remain. It felt good. Real good.

A New Lesson

As I write this, I also made the decision to stop clinging to The Minimalist blush like it’s the last blush on earth that will work well with my skin.

I’m done holding back on using this blush and rationing it like it’s irreplaceable.

I love it and from now on, I’m gonna use something I love without holding back. How many times have I skimped and rationed on a product and ended up with it expiring? I’ve had this scenario replayed over and over through the years. I’m pushing the stop button now.

I used to hold back because I was afraid I wouldn’t find this blush again, especially with the branch near me closing…

But I’m learning that there are always new favorites waiting to be discovered.

This blush is not my last love. It’s just a chapter.

Using up this blush will open doors to new discoveries…

And I intend to fully walk through that door.

Soft Luxe Staycations: Binondo Series - The Great Buddha, Curated Purchases from Eng Bee Tin, and Last Thoughts About Ramada

After buying a lot of stuff on the first floor, we headed upstairs to eat a light lunch. Mom was getting hungry. My son and I just ate, but we said that we will accompany her and will just order something light.

All About Eyes

Lately I’m finding myself obsessed with skin care products, prevention in particular. I'm not getting younger and nobody likes lines and wrinkles, right? I should have done this in my early twenties but those were hard times and we didn’t have enough to support our daily lives, let alone vanity splurges. So now, I’m on hyper mode. I did not place any expectations on this product. I’ve had it with products claiming they can do this and that. I just tried the product thinking that if it works then great, if not then I’ll just find a new one. I wasn’t expecting a dramatic change but 2 weeks into using this product, I noticed that my under eye area has become lighter. The lines are also not as deep as they were before I used this product. I stopped using the Garnier eye products because I’m allergic to them so that means I’m not using any whitening products for that area. I am truly impressed with this product. I didn’t take a before and after photo as I wasn’t expecting this at ...

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...
