What Feels Right Lately
Lately, I’ve stopped asking if something makes sense.
I ask if it feels right.
I ask if it’s aligned to the woman I’m becoming.
I ask if it serves me.
Not in a loud, impulsive way.
Not in the kind of way that needs to be explained or justified.
Just… quietly right.
The kind of right that settles into my shoulders.
The kind that doesn’t argue back.
So I’ve been choosing things differently.
A bag that curves softly against my side, like it already knows where it belongs.
Another that holds just enough, without asking me to carry more than I should.
Textures I want to touch to calm the storm in me while outside.
Shapes that don’t fight me.
Materials that are natural, organic.
Shoes I can walk in without thinking.
Without adjusting.
Without proving anything.
Shoes that look good and feel even better under my feet.
Nothing here is trying too hard.
And maybe that’s why it feels like me again.
Because for the longest time, I chose things that looked right.
That sounded right.
That other people would understand.
But lately…
I’ve been choosing things that don’t need to be understood.
(I don’t need to explain my choices.
I don’t need to have what everyone else has.)
Only felt.
Only lived in.
There’s a difference between dressing up your life…
and settling into it.
And I’m done dressing
These pieces—
they’re not statements.
They’re permissions.
To move slower.
To carry less.
To take up space without announcing it.
To exist without explaining.
And somehow, in the quiet certainty of that—
I feel like I’m coming back to myself.
What I feel in my mind and heart is reflected in my current style:
