Hi, everyone! I'm sorry I've been away for so long. I've had many things that needed my utmost attention. It's also the start of summer and my urticaria has come back. I am covered with huge wheals all over. I've seen a dermatologist the other day and was put on meds. I pray that this will work as I don't want to undergo any more tests. If you have chronic urticaria, I'd appreciate some tips and advice. So, let's talk about these Essence makeup that I got some time ago. My favorite among these is the All About Roses eye shadow palette. The shadows are super pigmented. They last the whole day. They are even better than my Stila palettes and for a fraction of the price! I just use a good primer such as UDPP or the one from Too Faced. I also like the All About Matt powder. I used it on my sister when I did her makeup for her party. She stayed shine-free for a long time in spite of the heat. I rarely use this on myself as my skin is too dry nowadays....

  For many, many years, I’ve avoided dual-ended brushes.  I don’t like it when the other end gets dirty and squished in the container.  And for many, many years, I’ve used individual disposable spoolies to groom my brows.  But since I’ve been busier, I started buying more brushes. More brushes means less time spent washing them frequently.  More brushes meant more eyebrow brushes.  However, the brushes at KKV only had these dual tip ones.  (I’ve stopped buying expensive brushes. Tell you why in a future issue.) So, I had no choice. I skipped these palettes. They’re very pretty, but won’t work on me There are colors I find absolutely beautiful but rarely wear. An eyeshadow palette might have the loveliest arrangement of shades. A lipstick might look irresistible in its packaging. A blouse might catch my attention simply because the color is gorgeous. But I’ve learned that admiring a color and actually using it are two very different things. Some shades look wonderful in the pan but don’t translate quite the same way on my skin. I was told coral would look lovely on my skin, but it just turns into a gaudy orange! 🙄 Others look beautiful on someone else but don’t flatter me in quite the same way. And sometimes, a color suits me perfectly but doesn’t work with anything else in my wardrobe. That’s the difference between a pretty color and a useful one. There was a big percentage of it with just lard.  The corned beef is sweet. It doesn't taste like gyudon. It's just corned beef that's sweet. My son and I liked it. I’ve been in so much stress for the past month and a half and I promised myself that I would go retail therapy last weekend. So I did. Saizen and Etude House hauls I got a few things from Saizen, Etude House and Watsons. From Saizen, I got the organizers which I will use for my wedding gig this coming weekend. I will also use the coral mat to line the table to prevent my things – brushes, lipsticks, etc. from slipping/rolling. I also got new food bowls for my cats which are not pictured here. I was originally planning to buy the Gommage scrub from Etude House but got carried away when I saw their new nail products. Good thing I was able to go back only to find out that the Gommage scrub has been out of stock for quite some time now. After lunch, we went to H&M to look for clothes for my son but didn't find any in his size. On the way back to Greenbelt, we stopped by Ayala Museum's free section. They were having an exhibit about water. I told my son that we should go because we once discussed this in our homeschool.  Ayala Museum I love this painting This part, where women and girls carry the burden of water collection in some countries, really struck my online students when we discussed this in Ancient Civilizations.   I love samples.  With all my sensitivities, they allow me to try a new product without committing to a sale that might not be beneficial to me in the long run.  I particularly liked the Le Baume sample Dior Beauty Ambassador EJ gave me. (I showed that in Used to the Last Drop in this issue.) And of course, where else would I try it on first than 👉🏼  My hands. Yes, they’re still dry. Sometimes very dry.  I tried the sample one afternoon while I was working on Issue 02: Beautiful Things.  How do I love thee? Let me count the ways: First, no strong smell.  I liked that.  Second, the product is absorbed by my hands fairly easily.  I don’t have to spend 5 minutes rubbing my hands for the product to be absorbed.  Time-saver. ✅ Comes in a cute, compact case? Yes, please! (Although I was told this was a limited edition case.) I can wear it to sleep.  And that’s a big deal for me because most of my day products don’t work on me at night....

Well, as far as I can remember, that is. These are both from Paul & Joe, my favorite brand for foundations. As you may already know, the brand pulled out from the PH some time ago, back when I was still pregnant. I was so disappointed when I went to Rustan’s to buy some makeup from them. Fortunately, they had a super sale in Glorietta so I was able to buy my pressed foundation (2nd photo). That’s a liquid foundation in the first photo. My liquid/cream foundations and BB cream stash is down to the last tube so I needed to buy a new one. I thought about stocking up on them but dismissed the thought because they might spoil because the pressed foundation lasts me a year. Will review the liquid foundation in my next post.

  Once I’d finally done something about all that dry skin, I decided my feet deserved the second half of the operation: moisture. Enter this extremely cheerful Christmas-themed rose nourishing foot mask . Did I use it at Christmas? Of course not. I only recently got around to using it because apparently this is where we are in my life now. I am so busy that even my seasonal beauty products have a backlog. 😂 Do you remember that I usually celebrate Christmas in January or February because of atelier work?  Apparently, it’s the same for my beauty routines. 😑 The little reindeer had been patiently waiting for its moment. The masks themselves were essentially little moisturizing socks. I put them on, sat there looking mildly ridiculous for a while, and let them do their thing. They felt weird.
